Edouard Mendy has been in spectacular form since signing for Chelsea, and the new goalkeeper has won the plaudits of teammate, N’Golo Kante.
Mendy has conceded just one goal in four games since joining Chelsea, and has kept three clean sheets for the Blues, including back to back clean sheets against Sevilla and Manchester United.
After the impressive performance against Manchester United, Kante has urged the 28-year-old to continue with the clean sheets in each game.
Kante said: “He made some decisive saves. He helped us keep the clean sheet. It’s good for him, for his confidence, and good for the team.
“I hope he can keep going in this way and continue not conceding any goals.”
Interestingly, Mendy became the first Chelsea goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet in both of his first two Premier League games for the club since Petr Cech in August 2004.
Mendy has also hailed Kante as one of the four players that have helped him settle in quickly at the club, the others being Olivier Giroud, Kurt Zouma and Cesar Azpilicueta.
