Kepa Arrizabalaga was brought to the fore yet again in the 3-3 draw against Southampton.

The Spaniard has been under fire since last season and has really been in poor form under Frank Lampard.

The Chelsea manager had to sign a new goalkeeper in Edouard Mendy, but he was unavailable for the game against the Saints, having suffered injury while on international duty with Senegal.

Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, has said that the Chelsea can’t win the title because of a poor defence.

Hasselbaink has revealed that Kepa cannot improve the Chelsea defence, and that Lampard has to sort his defence well, if he wants to stand a chance in winning a title.

“No, Chelsea are not contenders [for the title],” Hasselbaink told Sky Sports.

“They are leaking too many goals. It is a breath of fresh air to see them going forward with the likes of Mason Mount and Werner.

“But the defence is a worry, if they cannot improve the centre-backs and goalkeeper it is a concern. Alisson wins Liverpool points, but that doesn’t happen with Kepa. Chelsea need to improve in that area.”
