Former Chelsea player Alan Hudson has blamed Chelsea boss Frank Lampard for Timo Werner’s poor performance in the goalless draw against Manchester United.
According to Hudson, Werner and Kai Havertz failed to impress against Manchester United due to the defensive tactics used employed by Lampard against Manchester United.
Chelsea had just one shot on target against Manchester United and it was easily saved by David de Gea.
Hudson told CaughtOffside about Werner and Havertz: “They were both disappointing because this defensive formula was foreign to them. They are both forward thinking players and they must be thinking ‘How many do we have to score to win?’”
