Crystal Palace had a good start to the new season, with back to back victories for their two opening games, including a 3-1 bashing of Manchester United.
Palace were narrowly beaten by Everton last time out, and the Eagles have the characteristic of being hard to beat, due to their tightly packed defence.
Despite defending deep against Chelsea, the Blues were able to turn the heat in the second half and win the game 4-0, after a goalless first half.
Speaking after the game, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard was proud of the performance of his players and admitted that beating a team like Palace 4-0 is no mean feat.
“Not too many put four past Crystal Palace,” said the Chelsea manager.
“First half we started well, we came off it a little bit. We needed a bit more. It was great for us to get four goals.”
