Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has kept mute on N’Golo Kante’s availability ahead of Saturday’s crucial meeting with Southampton at Stamford Bridge.
There has been some doubts over whether Kante would be fit enough to feature this weekend after picking up a muscle injury on international duty.
There was a boost for Chelsea as Kante was involved in training with the Chelsea team, and it was expected that Lampard will brief the media on the availability of Kante.
However, there has been no update so far, as Lampard rather confirmed that Thiago Silva and Edouard Mendy will be unavailable.
Kante was forced to miss France’s Nations League clash against Croatia due to the muscle injury. Kante trained normally on Tuesday but has been suffering with muscle discomfort.
The 29-year-old may be utilised nevertheless against the Saints, as Frank Lampard is happy to welcome back Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech.
