Frank Lampard didn’t have a good experience against Chelsea rivals Manchester United last season, as he was on the losing side most of the time.
Chelsea faced United four times last season, and lost three of those games. The Blues were beaten 4-0 by Olé Gunnar Solskjaer’s side in our first game last season, and as well lost in the Carabao Cup 2-1, and in the second league game 2-0.
Chelsea’s only win against Manchester United last season was in the FA Cup tie after the lockdown, which Chelsea won 3-1.
Speaking ahead of the game, Frank Lampard has revealed that he’s not taking United for granted even though they lost 6-1 to Spurs, and he still remembers last season’s defeats.
Lampard said in his press conference: “We can talk about certain games where big teams have conceded a lot of goals, or there have been big turnarounds in games, but I’m not interested in that,” said Lampard.
“Man United are a very good team, we played them enough last year to know that, and I’m not concerned with what might have happened in games before.
“There’s been an uncertainty within life and the game which has brought about the unpredictability we have seen in the early stage of the season, but we only have to focus on ourselves.
“We have belief in this squad. We will see how things level out as the season goes on. I don’t want to predict how it might look like when we are this early into the season.”
