Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has done a decent job since his appointment as Chelsea manager.

Lampard’s appointment in 2019 came with a lot of skepticism, with many believing that he won’t last a year in the job.

However, Lampard guided Chelsea to a top four finish with a young squad, and the Blues boss was backed heavily in the summer by the Chelsea board.

There are bigger expectations for him this season, but Lampard is just too pleased to be in charge of the club.

He said: “I’m certainly very pleased. I’m proud to manage this club every day. I saw a club that I love. Never a doubt in my mind. I loved last season, the challenges it brought on every level and finishing in the top four. We now want to move on to further levels.

“I love that challenge every day. I made the right decision.”

He also said: “When I got this job a lot of people were questionining it, asking if I am sure I want to take it.

“People can be very quick to form opinions straight away. Some of it I understand but we have to judge people on face value. I was proud of what we achieved last season by finishing in top four. I can’t get swung on opinion. If you look at all of them and read it will affect you every day.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
