Chelsea’s problem since last season has been poor defence. The Blues conceded 54 goals in the Premier League last season, and the defensive woes doesn’t seem to have ended.
Chelsea conceded three goals in the games against West Brom and Southampton, causing the club to lose four points from those games.
It was expected that Chelsea would concede against Sevilla in the Champions League tie at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night, but the Blues defence did well to keep a clean sheet in that game.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has admitted that the team’s defending and the clean sheet pleased him very much.
He said: “The clean sheet was a big deal for us.
“Seville are a top team in European football. The concentration and focus to get the result was big from the team.
“We made a lot of good decisions, so it’s a really nice place for us to build from.”
