Hakim Ziyech is expected to make his Chelsea debut when the Blues face Southampton this weekend at Stamford Bridge.
The former Ajax midfielder has been made to wait for his Premier League bow after picking up a knee injury in Chelsea’s pre-season clash with Brighton, ruling him out of the first month of the season.
Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek, who was Ziyech’s teammate at Ajax, believes Chelsea is the right club for the Moroccan international.
“Yes, if I hear all the reports, I will assume that it is already far,” Van de Beek told Voetbal Primeur.
“I wish him everything and hope he will do very well there. It is a step he deserves in my opinion. He is a fantastic football player, so I am confident that he will do well.
“I think it’s a very nice club with a lot of young players that can grow. I think Hakim will certainly be in [the right] place. Everyone, of course, had their opinion about that, but I think it’s a nice club for him.”
