Chelsea played out a goalless draw with Sevilla at Stamford Bridge, and it was a very tight game between the two sides, in what was a cagey affair.
See the player ratings for this game
Mendy: Good game in goal, as he gave his defenders confidence. Made a good save from a Zouma defection that seemed to be going in. 7/10
Reece James: Very classy performance. Had a smooth ruggedity about his defending. Nothing went by him, and he also went forward to support the attack. 7/10
Thiago Silva: Mature and experienced defending. Calm all through the game and was very good on the ball. 7/10
Zouma: Made too many errors at the back that almost cost the team. Was solid in defence but his errors were too dangerous. 4/10
Chilwell: Booked for pulling Ocampos’ shirt in the 64th minute. Other than that, he was solid defensively, and went forward to support the attack. 6/10
Jorginho: Was captain on the night in the absence of Cesar Azpilicueta. Couldn’t dominate the middle of the park against a very aggressive Sevilla side. Booked early in the game for taking a heavy touch that fell kindly for Ocampos and had to bring him down. Could easily have gotten a second yellow after he fouled Rakitic a couple of minutes later. Subbed off for Mateo Kovacic in the second half. 5/10
Kante: Worked hard as usual. But not much going forward. 6/10
Kai Havertz: Very anonymous display. Quiet evening. 5/10
Pulisic: Seemed to have a spark around him. But the Sevilla defence did well to keep him bound.
Mount: Was the first to be subbed off. Never got to grips with the game. 5/10
Werner: Was lively all through the game. So many dangerous runs, but it never really happened for him. 6/10
Ziyech: Came on for Mount after the hour mark, but not yet at his best. 5/10
Kovacic: Was good on the ball once he came on for Jorginho and worked hard in the middle of the park. 5/10
Tammy Abraham: Very late sub.
Hudson-Odoi: Very late sub.
