According to a former teacher of Ben Chilwell, the Chelsea left-back could have been a successful cricketer or businessman if he had decided not to play professional football.
Andy Whomsley, who was Chilwell’s head of year at Redborne Upper School in Ampthill, told The Sun: “Ben was a very talented sportsman, a county cricketer until 16.
“If he hadn’t played football he could have played cricket without a doubt. If he hadn’t played cricket he could have gone down to the City of London and into business.
“He was a fantastic young man, articulate, intelligent, well-liked, a good sense of humour, an excellent communicator.”
