Chelsea boss Frank Lampard decided to drop Thiago Silva for the game against Krasnodar, as Lampard wanted to rest his star defender in order to manage him optimally for the rest of the campaign.

The 36-year-old indeed had a good time with his family while the team were away in Russia.

The veteran Brazilian defender spent some valuable family time with his wife and two children as they went for an outing at a bowling alley in London.

Silva and his wife posted images of the family enjoying some time out having a good time, and also photos of them enjoying dinner together.

Thiago Silva also shared an image of himself resting in his room while wearing a special high-tech leg recovery device. While his teammates were beating Krasnodar, Silva was in a hotel room back in the UK wearing a leg recovery device.

According to the report, the high-tech trousers are designed to massage muscles in a variety of settings, reducing soreness and improving circulation.

Thiago Silva will be introduced to the Chelsea team for the game against Burnley this weekend.
