Despite spending big on new signings this summer, the Blues haven’t had the perfect start to the new season.
According to Italian journalist Stefano Boldrini, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich hasn’t sacked Chelsea manager Frank Lampard because the Chelsea legend is being protected at the club.
Boldrini believes Maurizio Sarri would have been sacked if he was still Chelsea boss after spending this big in the transfer market.
“If Sarri had a start like Lampard this year at Chelsea he would be fired, Lampard was protected,” Italian journalist Stefano Boldrini told TuttoJuve.
The Blues have won 2 of our 6 Premier League games so far, drawing 3 and losing once. Chelsea were eliminated from the League Cup in a penalty shootout against Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham.
