Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has claimed Ethan Ampadu “should be ashamed of himself” after Wales’ 0-0 draw against the Republic of Ireland on Sunday.
Wales were perhaps unlucky not to be awarded a penalty in the first half, after Ampadu collided with Ireland goalkeeper Darren Randolph.
The 20-year old, who recently completed a loan move to Sheffield United, went down holding his head, seemingly in some pain, but former Ireland international Keane had little sympathy.
“Just disgraceful, really,” Keane said on ITV. “This Ampadu, like, what’s the game coming to?
“He should be ashamed of himself, grabbing his head. I’d be embarrassed if I was him. Ridiculous.”
