Chelsea winger turned wing-back Victor Moses has been strongly linked with a move on loan to Russian side Spartak Moscow.
Moses, who couldn’t seal a loan move to Inter Milan before transfer deadline day, is now set to join Spartak Moscow on loan with the option to sign permanently for €8m.
Meanwhile, Spartak Moscow coach Dmitri Gunko is backing Moses to do well at the club, and doesn’t think his time in Moscow will be like former Blue Andre Schurrle.
Schurrle spent a time on loan with Spartak Moscow last season, but his time there didn’t go well, with just one goal in 14 games.
Gunko told Sport-Express: “I think he will be able to adapt to the Russian championship.
“It is clear that this is a high-level footballer with a certain set of qualities, which, it seems to me, there will be judged by the flow of (Spartak coach Domenico) Tedesco’s game. If we talk about the risk of repeating the story with Schurrle, then, it seems to me, these are generally two different stories.
“If we talk about transfers at all, then there is always some risk. Let’s see how the footballer will show himself, but he has the motivation for this.”
