It was expected that Victor Moses would at least leave the club on loan this summer transfer window.
Last season, Moses spent time on loan at Fenerbahce and Inter Milan, with Antonio Conte’s side believed to have been interested in re-signing the Nigerian before Monday’s transfer deadline.
However, there was no move for the former Nigerian international before deadline day.
Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte used Moses to good effect as a right wing-back in Chelsea’s title winning season, and requested for a loan spell with Inter Milan last season.
According to Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, Inter were planning to enter into negotiations with Moses after Chelsea refused to loan out club-mate Marcos Alonso to the Serie A side.
However, Inter owners did not give their approval for Moses’ return as Conte has four players in Achraf Hakimi, Ashley Young, Matteo Darmian and Danilo D’Ambrosio capable of playing at wing-back.
Moses helped Inter finish as runners-up in both the Serie A and the UEFA Europa League last season, and he played 12 games in the the league, with four of them starts and he made three assists.
Moses could yet still move to the EFL, Russia or Portugal. Russia and Portugal are two notable countries whose transfer windows remain open until October 17 and 25 respectively, while deals can still be made between the Premier League and EFL clubs until October 16.
