Reports confirmed last week that Chelsea striker Timo Werner was unwell, and there were fears that he may have gotten the dreaded coronavirus.
Werner was experiencing flu-like symptoms since joining up with the German national team from Chelsea, and had to miss last week’s friendly game against Turkey.
Germany coach Joachim Low’s assistant, Marcus Sorg said in his press conference on Tuesday last week: “Timo Werner has a slight cold and won’t join up with the team today.”
Werner has since been declared free of coronavirus and is now fully fit for their Nations League game against Switzerland on Tuesday night, German boss Joachim Low has revealed.
“Timo Werner is back to full strength and there are no weaknesses,” Loew said of the Chelsea forward, who had only managed a brief appearance against Ukraine after missing their 3-3 draw against Turkey last week with flu.
“He is available.”
