Reece James’s scored a thunderbolt in the 3-1 win against Brighton, which has now been named as Chelsea’s September Goal of the Month.
The strike was just as important as it was massive, as the Chelsea right-back fired a thunderous strike into the back of the net immediately after the Seagulls equalised.
The goal helped calm Chelsea’s nerves, and the Blues will go on to win the game 3-1.
According to the official Chelsea website, over 30,000 fans voted via The 5th Stand, and 75 per cent of the total vote was for the Chelsea defender, as he comfortably came out on top, with Mason Mount’s goal away at West Brom and Timo Werner’s first in Chelsea blue against Tottenham coming second and third respectively, but theirs are some way off James.
The 20-year-old is in a battle with skipper Cesar Azpilicueta, to become the first choice right-back at the club, and he’s really making the position very competitive.
