Hakim Ziyech was a £33m signing from Ajax, and the Moroccan international came with some experience of European football.
The 27-year-old was a 62nd minute substitute against Ajax, as he came on in place of Mason Mount.
Although Chelsea played out a goalless draw in this game, it was a milestone for Ziyech, who marked 50 Champions League appearances.
On making his 50th appearance in the Champions League, Ziyech said: “Obviously it’s a dream for everybody to play in the Champions League so for me it is as well.
“I’m happy that it’s already the 50.”
On how he’s settling in, in his new team, Ziyech said: “So far it’s been good for me, obviously, everything around football.
“I’ve been out for a couple of weeks so everything for me is new and I have to get used to it. But I don’t put pressure on myself and I know what I have to do.”
