According to German media outlet Bild via Daily Mail, David Alaba’s agent Pini Zahavi reportedly plans to start talks with Chelsea in January with the Bayern Munich defender looking more and more likely to leave the club in 2021.
Alaba’s contract with Bayern Munich expires next summer and he is yet to agree a contract extension with the German champions.
Alaba reportedly wants £280,000 a week to extend his contract but Bayern Munich are unwilling to meet his demands.
Bild also adds that while talks with the Blues are in the pipeline, Ligue 1 champions PSG are also interested in the defender. Real Madrid and Juventus are also interested in Alaba.
Originally one of the top left backs in Europe, Alaba has developed into a capable centre back in the past two years for the German giants. He has also played in midfield at times for Bayern.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer confirmed earlier this month that Alaba rejected Bayern Munich’s latest contract offer.
He said: “We submitted to David and his adviser some time ago what we think was a very good offer.
“The answer was that the offer was still unsatisfactory and we should think about it again. We then decided to take the offer completely off the table. This means there is no longer an offer.”
