Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell has had his fair share of injury troubles this season, and the 23-year-old gave a scare after a clash with Tottenham’s Serge Aurier.
While contesting for the ball, Chilwell’s left leg had an awful twist, and there were fears that he might have gotten injured as he stayed on the floor for quite a while.
Speaking after the game, Chilwell gave the clear that he was fine, admitting that he only felt a temporal pain from the incident at the time.
“I was desperate to carry on and thankfully I ran it off,” he said.
“It’s fine now so I’m just looking forward to recovering and hopefully playing again in midweek.”
Chelsea’s next league game is a home game against Leeds United, and limited fans will be allowed to watch the game inside Stamford Bridge.
Chilwell has admitted that he is pleased with the recent development.
“Myself and a few of the other players haven’t played at the Bridge with fans so we’re very excited to have them back next week,” he added.
“Hopefully they can give us that little push.”
