Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga’s role has dropped in the club, as he has now been reduced to a second choice goalkeeper.
Kepa signed up for the Blues from Athletic Bilbao for £72m in 2018, but Kepa has never been able to keep to his expensive price tag.
Blues boss Frank Lampard had seen enough of his mistakes last season, and decided to sign Edouard Mendy from Rennes, and the Senegal international has shown that he’s worth being the club’s number one.
Kepa has only been able to feature in one game since Mendy was signed, and he shipped in three goals in that game against Southampton, and hasn’t featured ever since.
One could wonder how the Spaniard will be feeling at the moment, and Chelsea legend Petr Cech has revealed the state of Kepa.
In an interview with The Times, Cech who was responsible for the signing of Mendy, has praised the Spaniard’s reaction to the arrival of a new goalkeeper and says his response has been ‘absolutely magnificent’.
Mendy is yet concede a goal in the three Premier League games he has featured in this season.
