Former Chelsea captain John Terry is undoubtedly Chelsea’s greatest ever defender, and is hailed by many as one of the greatest Premier League defenders if not the greatest.
Chelsea legend Gus Poyet has revealed Terry’s secret to his successful career that saw the Chelsea defender win lots of trophies for the Blues.
According to Poyet, Terry became a great defender because he learned from former Chelsea defenders Frank Leboeuf and Marcel Desailly.
Poyet said, according to Daily Mail: “JT was clever from the first time he trained with us. He improved by watching Frank Leboeuf and Marcel Desailly. He learned from them positioning, passing skills, aggression, professionalism, power.”
