Chelsea have a nickname of Pride of London, and the Blues have been the most dominant side in the capital for about two decades now.
This season promises to be a tough one, with Tottenham and Chelsea among the most in-form teams at the moment, with some believing that they have what it takes to even challenge for the title.
Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards and former Blue Chris Sutton, argued about who will be the top London club this season.
Richards believes Spurs will be top, but Sutton isn’t convinced and has backed Chelsea.
“Spurs for me,” Micah Richards told the Daily Mail.
“The style Mourinho has got them playing isn’t the most attractive but it is efficient and ask yourself this: if you were a defender, would you want Harry Kane, who is in the form of his life, Son Heung-min and Gareth Bale running at you?
“Those three give Spurs a fear factor and Mourinho should not be underestimated.”
However, Sutton rather believes Chelsea will finish higher and raised doubts over Spurs’ credentials.
“Chelsea,” he said.
“There’s talk of Spurs going all the way under Jose Mourinho.
“I don’t think they can, but we’ll learn a lot about them after the international break.
“Their league fixtures are: Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Liverpool, Leicester, Wolves.”
