According to Football Insider via Tribal Football, the Blues are prepared to test the resolve of West Ham United by submitting a winter bid for Declan Rice.
Rice is reportedly value the England international at around £80million and are unwilling to let Rice leave unless their asking fee is matched.
The defensive midfielder, who can also play at centre-back, is a key target for Blues boss Frank Lampard.
The report claims Chelsea will sell Marcos Alonso, Jorginho and Antonio Rudiger to fund a move for Rice.
The Blues could not sell those players in the summer, and the source claims it is the reason why Chelsea couldn’t sign Rice during the summer transfer window.
