Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane have proven to be among the best strikers in the Premier League in recent years, and new Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell believes Chelsea striker Timo Werner can follow in their footsteps.
Chilwell who has seen what Werner can do first hand, has hailed the new Chelsea striker and believes he can be at the top for the next decade.
“I’d already say he’s up there with them two [Kane and Vardy] and he can definitely go on to be absolutely world-class for a long time for the next 10 years or so,” said in a newly released video that was recored last weekend.
“I think when you look at his age and how prolific he is in front of goal, even now his start to Chelsea he’s scored a lot of goals already. Just in front of goal he’s so good.
“He has similar characteristics to both Vards and Harry to be fair. In terms of running the channels and how quick he is it’s similar to Vards. With Harry his link up play and is finishing is similar. He’s definitely in a category with them two.”
Vardy and Kane have scored a combined tally of 261 Premier League goals between them, with Vardy already on eight this season and Kane on 7. Werner isn’t too far off, with 4 league goals so far.
