Hakim Ziyech was absent at the start of the season due to injury, and with just four league appearances, the Moroccan international is already showing that he can be the main man for Chelsea this season.
The 27-year-old has only played in 190 minutes of Premier League football this season, but he’s already topping an important chart, to show how far he has come this season.
Ziyech has bagged three assists from just two starts (and two appearances off the bench) in the Premier League this season has put him in joint-fourth place in the league’s assist chart, but that’s not the catch.
Ziyech also ranks second in terms of chance created, setting up almost four chances per 90 minutes, but that’s still not the catch.
According to stats released on the official Premier League website, Ziyech has created almost two big chances per 90 minutes, more than any other player in the league.
Also, Ziyech has successfully found a teammate inside the penalty box with his passes almost 12 times per 90 minutes, the third most in the league. And of course, Timo Werner has been a worthy recipient of the Moroccan’s favour.
Ziyech was the man of the match in Chelsea’s 4-1 win over Sheffield United last week, and in that game, he made six key passes — a record for the 2020/21 season.
