Chelsea’s defence has been a talking point since last season, but all for the bad reasons, as the Blues conceded a whopping 54 goals in the Premier League.

The team’s defending continued to be porous even unto this season, but there has been massive improvement of late.

From being a team that concedes goals every now and then, Frank Lampard’s side went on a run of 5 games without conceding a goal.

The Blues eventually conceded in the 4-1 win against Sheffield United, but former Blues defender Ashley Cole, admitted that he was pleased with the defence despite the goal conceded.

Cole said: “It is exciting watching them in attacking form.

“But also I am happy that yes, Chelsea conceded a goal, but they are definitely looking defensively stronger and more solid as a unit now.”
