Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has been starting games recently, and he has been getting the goals as well, with three goals in his last three appearances for the club.

Abraham has been the focal point in recent games, with Timo Werner playing from the left flank.

However, former Man United star Owen Hargreaves had suggested that Abraham would lose his place to Christian Pulisic when he returns from injury, with Werner returning to the striking spot.

However, former Chelsea midfielder Andros Townsend believes that the only way he can keep being in the team is by scoring goals.

“I think as well, Tammy now knows he’s got to get numbers, he’s got to have goals.

“I think when you’re a young player coming into any team, particularly a big club, you want to make sure you’re part of the team, you perform your role and duty for the team.

“Now, as a striker, there’s a time you cross over into [saying], ‘I need goals, unless I score goals I can’t worry about the boys at the back and everything else for the team, I’ve got to make sure I produce’.

“And I think he now realises that to stay at the focal point of Chelsea’s attack he’s got to get his numbers and he’s doing it very well at the moment.”
