Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has made it mandatory to keep Thiago Silva fit, as the Blues boss rests him at intervals and has vowed to manage him properly this season.

Meanwhile, former Tottenham coach Tim Sherwood has listed three other players Frank Lampard must keep fit in his squad.

Sherwood believes that Chelsea have what it takes to win the league, but named Thiago Silva, N’Golo Kante, Edouard Mendy and Timo Werner as the four key players that can help hand Chelsea the title, but warned that they must be fit for the rest of the season.

When asked if Lampard’s side can win the league, the former Tottenham manager told Optus Sport: “I think they can. I think anyone that finishes above Liverpool, I think they win the league.

“They have to keep their key men fit. I think their key men are Werner, Kante has to play, and the goalkeeper [Mendy] has to be there all the time, and Thiago Silva has to play the majority of games.”

Chelsea will play host to Tottenham at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, and Sherwood has predicted a 1-1 draw.
