Chelsea ended the month of October in style, as the Blues defeated Burnley 3-0.
In the month of October, Chelsea also played out a goalless draw with Manchester United, drew 3-3 with Southampton and defeated Crystal Palace 4-0.
Frank Lampard’s side were unbeaten in October, and four Chelsea players were deemed worthy of recognition, when the Daily Star named their Premier League team of the month.
Kurt Zouma, Ben Chilwell, N’Golo Kante and Timo Werner all got the nod in what was a star studded team.
Explaining Werner’s inclusion, the Daily Star wrote: “After a slow start to life at Stamford Bridge, Werner caught fire in October, starting with two goals against Southampton.
“He ended it with another cool finish against Burnley and looks to have settled into English football.”
On Kante, the report reads: “With his injury problems last season, Kante was a big miss for Chelsea in midfield.
“Whenever he plays, the Blues are a better and more secure team.”
On Ben Chilwell: “Left-back has been a problem position for Chelsea under Frank Lampard which is why they spent so much to sign Chilwell from Leicester.
“A goal on his debut against Crystal Palace and two assists in four games proved he will be a vital component on Chelsea’s attack.”
