Hakim Ziyech came to the Premier League with a record of being a high scoring midfielder, and the Moroccan star is proving that he can as well bring that same form to the ever demanding Premier League.
Last season, Chelsea cried out for a player that can bang in the goals, after the goals of Tammy Abraham dried up, but not many could live up to the task.
Ziyech is proving that he can be that player who will provide the goals when necessary. Incidentally, Ziyech even matched the record of former Chelsea striker Diego Costa, despite not being a striker.
The 27-year-old became the first player since Diego Costa back in 2014 to find the net in his opening two games for Chelsea away to Krasnodar and Burnley in the Champions League and Premier League respectively.
The praises of the former Ajax man is well justified, and for him to cost just £33m in today’s market, Chelsea indeed pulled the biggest transfer heist of the summer.
