According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho chased Chelsea duo Kurt Zouma and Antonio Rudiger during the summer transfer window.
Mourinho was keen to strengthen his defence during the summer with Jan Vertonghen having left the club.
According to Daily Star, Rudiger held positive talks with Tottenham Hotspur but ended up staying at Stamford Bridge, due to fears over the backlash that could come from Chelsea fans.
Tottenham were also keen on signing Zouma from the Blues and even had an offer rejected.
While Rudiger has struggled for minutes after failing to leave the club during the summer transfer window, Zouma has forged a strong partnership with Thiago Silva in Chelsea’s defence.
