Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has been told he’s finally found the right role for record signing Kai Havertz.
Lampard played the German international in a deeper role in Chelsea’s 3-0 victory over Burnley on Saturday.
“I really liked Havertz playing in a deeper role, a more central role,” former Chelsea player Craig Burley told ESPN FC.
“Now, are you going to get away with Kante Havertz and Mount as a midfield three against bigger teams? Probably not.
“But in a game where you’re going to have more possession, I just liked Havertz in a deeper role.
“He just oozes quality and composure on the ball.
“I felt like that shape with Ziyech and Werner in the team and the bigger guy through the middle, it really worked for Chelsea.”
