Frank Lampard’s Chelsea matched a Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea record following the 2-0 victory over Newcastle United on Saturday.
Following Saturday’s victory over Newcastle United, the Blues have now kept four consecutive clean sheets away from home for the first time in six years since Mourinho’s Chelsea achieved the feat.
In our last four away games, Chelsea drew 0-0 at Manchester United, won 4-0 at Krasnodar, won 3-0 at Burnley and on Saturday won 2-0 at Newcastle United.
Meanwhile, Chelsea legend Joe Cole claimed after Chelsea’s victory over Newcastle that Thiago Silva wasn’t missed at the back due to Antonio Rudiger’s brilliant performance for the Blues.
Cole told BT Sports: “Rudiger is a difficult one because he’s been captain and he’s a senior player but you have to give credit where credit is due.
“It’s a difficult day for him. He’s come in and pitched it right. It looked like the biggest credit I could pay him is that Thiago Silva wasn’t even missed one bit. He just came in did his job and it was an exceptional performance.”
