Former Everton and Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott has hailed the performance of Tammy Abraham so far this season,

With the signing of Timo Werner, it was rumoured that it would be the end of Tammy Abraham at Chelsea. But the young striker has done well to have an impact in the Chelsea team this term.

Lescott has spoken on the depth of attacking quality in the Chelsea team as he also hailed Tammy Abraham’s influence.

“I wasn’t sure he [Abraham] was going to be able to survive it,” Lescott told Premier League Productions.

“I thought Werner was going to come in [and take his place].

“I possibly think if they had a full-strength squad at the start, he [Werner] may have played centre forward and Tammy Abraham may have had to play second fiddle.

“I think Pulisic and Ziyech on the wings with then Havertz and Mount in midfield… Tammy, where does he fit in?

“But the fact that Werner has gone out to the left wing and obviously has been successful has played into the hands of Frank Lampard and Tammy Abraham.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.

  1. I appreciate Abraham impact on Chelsea, but believe me he is not so aggressive in the front as compared to Pulisic and Geroud, He ought to work extra mile for us to over rate him to the class of Rashford/Kane/Pulisic/Giroud etc
