A number of Chelsea players have been doing well on loan this season, and some did extremely well in this weekend’s round of games.
Chelsea striker Armando Broja has been in fine form since joining Vitesse on loan, and the 19-year-old scored his fourth goal of the season as Vitesse earned a 3-1 win away at Willem II, to go joint top of the Eredivisie table. Broja has been in good form to ensure Vitesse are now only behind league leaders Ajax on goal difference.
Also, Chelsea’s forgotten Brazilian Lucas Piazon was in fine form as he scored a brace for Rio Ave to give them a 2-0 home win over Moreirense. The Brazilian cut in from the right wing to open the scoring in the 14th minute with his left foot and then sealed the victory from the penalty spot late on.
Piazon has since blasted Chelsea for making him a business project at the club.
He told Portuguese outlet Maisfutebol: “After a certain point the connection is no longer beneficial for both parties.
“At first, I felt really good. I went through the under-23s, got to the first team and, even in the first loans, I felt Chelsea had expectations and interest in me.
“I believed I could come back and have opportunities at any time.
“Later, as time passed, I became just another business for them. They send me out on loan with the expectation of selling me and making some money with me.
“I think that’s more or less what they think.”
