Chelsea legend Petr Cech has been training with the first team goalkeepers, and was recently named in Chelsea’s Premier League squad as an emergency goalkeeper.

Chelsea currently have three goalkeepers in Edouard Mendy, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Willy Caballero, and Blues boss Frank Lampard, has recently admitted that Cech may not eventually be in goal for a competitive game, despite his inclusion.

Mendy has also admitted that there may be no need for Cech to return, although he admits that he has been having a good time learning under the legendary Czech.

“In terms of him playing, I think we already have three very good, competitive goalkeepers and that should be enough for us,” Mendy said.

“It’s just an absolute pleasure to be with him every day.

“To work with him and particularly in training it allows me to watch how he works and to analyse his game. So it’s a wonderful bonus for me being here.”
