Ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League game against Rennes, Mason Mount has told Chelsea boss Frank Lampard his best position.

According to Mount, his best position is central midfield but he is happy to play any position to help the Blues.

Mount told reporters on Monday: “I enjoy playing different positions.

“I have done it my whole career as a young player. Mostly played in midfield, that is my natural position, but I am not a person to say no I am not going to play in that position.

“Whether it is a winger, higher up or deeper, I would never say no. I am someone that wants to play every every game, every minute and try to help the team as much as I can.

“I definitely like that fact I can be versatile and play in different positions. It gives you different options in the team and in the starting XI.

“I think I’ve always had that in my game from a young age. It’s good that you can play different positions.”
