Chelsea legend Ashley Cole is widely hailed as the best left-back the Premier League has seen, and the 39-year-old lasted at the top for way over a decade, while playing for Arsenal and Chelsea.

Cole is believed to be the mentor of Chelsea’s new left-back Ben Chilwell.

The Blues were in need of a left-back during the summer transfer window and opted to sign Chilwell from Leicester City for £50m, and the 23-year-old hit the ground running immediately, with a fine form.

After making a nice run behind the Sheffield United defensive line on Saturday, Cole revealed that he taught him that move.

“You were saying off air you taught him that, to be making that run all the time,” Souness pointed out to Cole during their analysis of Chilwell’s goal on Sky Sports.

In response, Cole said: “Yes”, while also hailing Hakim Ziyech’s performance.
