Edouard Mendy conceded only his third goal since signing for Chelsea as the Blues got a 2-1 win over Rennes.
It was a difficult win for the Blues, and Mendy was in good form.
The Chelsea goalkeeper made a good number of saves to keep his side safe, and it went a long way to help Chelsea get all three points.
Speaking after the game, Lampard was full of praise for Mendy and hailed his calmness even when coming against his former teammates.
The Blues boss said: “I’m very happy for him. It’s not easy to play against your old team-mates in the stadium you played so well at. I know it can add pressure, but Edou looked very calm. He’s been like that from the first moment he arrived.
“His personality is great, and most importantly his performances have been high. He continued that today and I’m really happy with him in all senses.”
