Eden Hazard was Chelsea’s big player before he left the club for Real Madrid in the summer of 2019.
Chelsea legend Ashley Cole has hinted the club have found the perfect replacement for Hazard after hailing Hakim Ziyech as Chelsea’s big player.
“We saw the quality at Ajax last year and in the Champions League but he’s gone under the radar due to the injury,” Cole told Sky Sports.
“When he’s come back he looks fit and looks like he’s enjoying the way Frank plays. He’s using that left foot wand to perfection at times.
“I think he pulled the strings today and he’s a big player for Chelsea.”
Cole also revealed he would have loved to play in the same team as Ziyech.
“When Ziyech gets the ball on his left foot it begs for runs, he’s such a talented boy,” Cole added
“If I was playing with him I’d always be looking to get in behind.
“I would love to play with someone with that quality. I had the pleasure to play with Lampard who used to find me in behind.
“But as soon as Ziyech opens up and gets it out on that cultured left foot, I’m making runs behind because he’s got a wand of a left foot.”
