Jose Mourinho recently put this post on his Instagram page: “A promise is a promise,” Mourinho wrote. “It cost me £500 but I keep my promises.”
If you know Mourinho well, you’d know that the post written above must be connected to something.
The former Chelsea manager psyched up his team to produce a 2-0 win over Manchester City last weekend, and is now gearing his side to face Chelsea.
Mourinho promised left back Sergio Reguilon an expensive ham if he’d keep out Manchester City star, Riyad Mahrez, and the left back who was linked with Chelsea before the signing of Ben Chilwell did a good job on the Algerian.
Mahrez attempted four dribbles past Reguilon during the game and was not successful on any attempt before eventually being subbed off in the second half, with Spurs moving into first place in the Premier League after the win.
Mourinho has now said he has kept a promise to the summer signing by purchasing him a £500 ham for his performance against Manchester City.
The Portuguese will definitely have something up his sleeve for the Chelsea game, and we have seen him in the past place Ander Herrera to mark out Eden Hazard while as Manchester United boss.
Frank Lampard must definitely be expecting something from his former boss, whom he knows too well.
