Timo Werner has taken to life in England, and is looking every bit of a world-class player, with seven goals already for Chelsea in 11 games – three in the Premier League and three in Champions League, with his other goal coming against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup.
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has praised Werner, and believes that he’d score many goals for Chelsea.
Ferdinand listed his movement both with and without the ball as the major reason that makes Werner a dangerous striker.
“What I like about him is his movement, with and without the ball, but he’s a player that you can’t pin him down as a centre-half,” Ferdinand told BT Sport . “He moves around, he’s elusive, he’s gaining confidence being around the team, his awareness of when to make runs is very intelligent.
“He knows where the goal is, his goal record in Germany was fantastic and I think he’ll get a hatful of goals here because there’s players that will put it on a plate for him, but he’ll demand it with his runs.
“Sometimes you play as a forward, your runs determine where players will pass the ball.
“He’s got good players on the same wavelength.”
Timo Werner has now scored 7 goals in 11 games for Chelsea in all competitions.
