Former Chelsea star Willian, was a fan’s favourite at Stamford Bridge, after his seven-year stay at the club.
Willian eventually sealed a summer move to Arsenal as a free agent, having failed to extend his contract with Chelsea, with the Brazilian and Chelsea failing to reach an agreement over the years of his contract.
Willian started out his Arsenal career in fine form, assisting three goals on his debut. Since then, Willian has struggled since then, and even Gunners boss Mike Arteta, has admitted the struggles of the Brazilian.
However, Liverpool legend John Barnes, has admitted that Willian is struggling because Arsenal is struggling, implying that he’d have been in good form if he was at Chelsea.
“Willian has come to an inconsistent team, it’s not the player himself that is at fault but the team he is in,” Barnes told BonusCodeBets.
“If Willian went to a consistent team that was performing well every week, he would be a fantastic player and a great addition to the squad. It is on Arsenal and Mikel Arteta to try and get the most out of him.
“Once Arsenal start to perform so will he and the whole club will be in a much better place.
“Willian was never going to be the main man at Arsenal, he needs to come to a team that is playing well and then he will add to that.”
