Thiago Silva left PSG for Chelsea as a free agent at the end of last season, and the Brazilian international has already impressed for the Blues in such a short time.

Three games have been played so far in the Champions League this season, and Chelsea top their group with seven points.

However, Silva’s former team PSG, lost to Manchester United last week and again lost to Leipzig on Wednesday night.

Silva admitted that the Champions League can be unpredictable at times, as he said: “It’s true that it was very important to win. It’s been a good start for us. This competition is always complicated.

“If you look at the other results in the Champions League you can see some surprises, Manchester United lost, Paris lost also, so we need to keep our heads and keep working hard.”

Silva was never able to win the Champions League, and only reached the Champions League final last season, losing to Bayern Munich.
