Chelsea signed up Thiago Silva as a free agent during the summer transfer window, upon the expiration of his contract with PSG.
The 36-year-old signed a one-year deal with the option to extend his contract for a further year, and the Brazilian recently admitted that he’d like to stay at Chelsea beyond the one-year time-frame.
“I am very proud to be coached by someone (Frank Lampard) who was one of the best midfielders in the world and to have faced him as a player,” he said ahead of Brazil’s World Cup qualifier against Venezuela.
“We exchange our ideas in the locker room and that’s a very good thing. He talks to me a lot and I try to help my best, on and off the pitch, in order to keep playing in the best possible way. I have learned in [a lot of different competitions] and I use it to help young players.
“This is my first experience in the Premier League. I hope to continue to play well and that my contract will be renewed.”
After forming a formidable partnership with Kurt Zouma, Chelsea fans are pleased he’d love to remain at the club, and the Blues faithful are as well keen that the veteran Brazilian should remain at the club.
