At 36, the veteran defender isn’t slowing down, and Isabelle has revealed his secret.
“He puts a lot of emphasis on diet and exercise,” Thiago’s wife Isabelle Silva told Goal.
“He is very professional. Whenever he wants to achieve a goal, I do what I can; I try to eat natural like him, we don’t drink soda.
“We do the exercises together at home; he helps me too. It’s nothing extraordinary; it’s just simple things, he exercises a lot with the club. He only does light exercise at home,” she concluded.
According to the report by Goal, Silva’s wife handles a team of staff to help Silva off the field, with a personal physiotherapist, performance advisor, and chef.
Thiago Silva has also revealed how he worked hard on himself and also had to stop eating junk food.
“When you are old enough in football you end up taking care of yourself a little more in terms of food. I used to eat very badly, nowadays I eat well,” Thiago Silva told reporters at a press conference recently.
“To be at a high level and playing what Chelsea want and the national team need I have to be 100% to do what is asked in the field.
“I have a personal staff that has been with me for two years, more or less, and has managed to change my eating routine a little.
“I used to eat a lot of junk food, especially post-game, even before, and we know that high-level football you need to take care of all sides. At one point, it gave me the impression that I had to keep performing. Preparation, prevention, training, I did normal. What I didn’t do was food.”
