Former Spurs boss Tim Sherwood has revealed the fear he had for young Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham.
During the summer transfer window, Chelsea went all out to splash the cash on signings, and there was a lot of attacking qualities added to the squad.
Many feared that Abraham won’t be able to make it in this Chelsea team, but the 23-year-old has now broken through and is looking a very important player.
Tim Sherwood has revealed that he was part of those who feared for Abraham, but is pleased with how he has broken into the team nevertheless.
“Frank Lampard seems to have found a balance now,” the former Tottenham manager told Premier League productions.
“Tammy Abraham’s come back in having proved that he can score goals last year.
“It looked like when they brought in Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, it looked like we were going to see the end of him [Abraham].
“[Christian] Pulisic was brilliant towards the end of last season, it looked like Tammy might have been pushed to the side, but he’s pushed himself back to the front.
“I’m pleased to see that because he really is effective.”
