Chelsea have lost one game from open play all season, which being the 2-0 defeat to Liverpool early on in the season.
However, Frank Lampard’s side is beginning to look a different team, and the new boys are beginning to blend in as well.
One major talking point for Chelsea since Maurizio Sarri, has been the use of N’Golo Kante. Sarri used him in an advanced midfield position, and Lampard followed suit, despite calls for Kante to play as a defensive midfielder.
In recent games, Lampard has deployed the World Cup winner as a defensive midfielder, and he even sat there alone in a 4-3-3 system against Burnley, playing a crucial role in the middle of the park.
Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes that, despite the blending of the new players, Kante has played a prominent role in helping the team so far, in his more accustomed position.
Wright said on Premier League Productions: “For me, playing Kante where he does is going to free up another vital cog in respect of the offensive side of things, because he was everywhere today.
“So once that’s all knitted together and they start to string a couple of wins together which they seem like they’re doing now, more clean sheets I’m sure will come because they’ll be very disappointed with that goal [against Sheffield United] because it was a poor goal to concede.
“But they’ve got everything in the armoury to actually challenge, without a doubt.”
